UPDATE- April 2011: I am still using this razor, I have dropped it many times, thrown it in my luggage for out of town trips and gone through 2 or 3 beards with it and it still looks brand new.
I bought this razor because I was tired of throwing away disposable razors after only a few uses, some cheaper blades only lasting HALF A SHAVE! I have very course hair at 26, and I knew it would only get worse, those cheapy disposables might be okay for teenagers and college kids but I needed a new way to shave. Based on the combination of reviews on [...] and what was available on amazon prime for next day shipping, I settled on this safety razor.
I couldn't be happier! The razor is beautiful- ornate and shiny, better than I expected for the price. The De89lbl has all metal parts (3 parts to be exact, and they seem to be chrome plated. After a few weeks of use the razor still looks brand new and I am still using the original blade!
The handle does not feel...
